Dragon Ball Z Movie 08: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan As Goku investigates the destruction of the Southern Galaxy, Vegeta is taken to be King of the New Planet Vegeta, and to destroy the Legendary Super Saiyan, Brolly. Dragon Ball Super is currently continuing the adventures of Goku and his fellow Z-fighters into a new era, but later this year fans will be able to revisit some of the earliest Saiyan adventures.
This is kind of ridiculous, but when you realize that the bulk of these stories are just the Z Warriors taking down a new “strongest villain,” that’s not exactly a complicated story to tell. The latest era of films has worked hard to right this wrong and the three most recent endeavors are all over 80 minutes in length.

As you can see, Dragon Ball Super is still going to be around even after its TV series ends this weekend. The franchise plans on continuing with the first Dragon Ball Super film, and it seems a lot will go down in this feature. Not only will a brand-new creative team take over its art style, but Goku will get an entirely new design and a new villain will be introduced as well. The trailer above shows just a snippet of the new film. Goku is seen preparing for battle on a deserted wasteland, and the icy tundra marks a very different kind of battlefield for Goku. The hero can be seen prepping for battle as he jumps in place, and then the movie's big baddie is shown way above the Saiyan. The guy isn't shown, but he looks plenty muscular and appears to be wearing a variation of Saiyan armor.
We’re given some sort of Kaio-Ken variation just so the movie can be withholding. As cruddy as Lord Slug is, it’s also become infamous for Gohan’s weird whistling number that he does with Higher Dragon (from Tree of Might, remember?) that drives Piccolo insane. It’s such a weird, shoehorned segment that starts the movie off, of all things. Naturally this whistling is the key to defeating Lord Slug (and all Nameks, apparently) in a nonsensical plot decision that’s better left not discussed. 2/7 Dragon Balls.
Goku faces off against Cooler, Future Trunks returns to fight Frieza, and Gohan and Piccolo take on Turles and Lord Slug (more on them later). Of course, this is all a ruse put in place by Tuffle survivor Hatchiyack, the big bad of the piece, who is eventually defeated by a Kamehameha, Final Flash, Masenko, and Burning Attack combo.

The Return of Cooler for instance finally gets Vegeta into the movie mix, and his presence is immediately felt and the badass quotient is knocked up a few levels.
