Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse Update
However, I have run the trouble shooters, updates to latest BIOS, uninstalled and reinstalled the Bluetooth drivers, checked the system for issues, checked the event logs, reinstalled the, run SFC, changed batteries, etc. Nothing works. With the latest update, KB4020102, Windows now at least can see the mouse (which it couldn't after the Creators Update). However, it is still impossible to pair as I described above. It indicates that the PIN-code is wrong.

Thank You for the quick reply and for the support article. I have read the article. Nothing there helps. The mouse has been working excellent for 2 years with this laptop. When Windows Update installed Creators Update a month ago the mouse stopped working and I haven't been able to make it work since then.
I actually use BetterTouchTool for scroll wheel actions. It seems to work pretty well.
I've had some issues with bluetooth connectivity but I think that is due to Windows 8.1 and should be fixed with an update. The tracking is great, works on every surface I have thrown at it so far. If you have a windows 8 computer and don't mind the size of this mouse, you will definitely like it. Rated 4 out of 5 by Ajit from Great Mouse I purchased the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort when I found that my new work laptop does not have an impressive touch pad. Initially I just wanted to go for an inexpensive Bluetooth mouse. A quick search revealed that I could preserve a USB port with the offering from Microsoft.

I'm sorry, Jefferson, but this suggestion is just plain aggravating. This seems to be a fairly common symptom. I'm experiencing it myself as well as a few others I know. That being the case, why isn't it something you can reproduce instead of asking a customer to do that for you? I understand that it's possible it's local user account related, but here's the deal: • Why is it related to the local account to begin with? I've been having the same problem and I was able to get my mouse to work (soft of). I used another mouse to turn off the Bluetooth, under settings. Then I went into the Device Manager and uninstalled ALL instances of ANY mouse. Then I rebooted. My Microsoft Sculpt BLUETOOTH mouse was working!!!
It was impossible to pair it. I have run through the troubles shooters. No errors found. I have deleted and reinstalled the Bluetooth drivers.
I have tried unchecking the power savings box for bluetooth, but that only worked momentarily. I asked Samsung about this and was told that my notebook is not compatible with the Windows 10 upgrade. I find this puzzling because the Get Windows 10 app had appeared in my system tray and I was encouraged to do the update. Seems to me that whoever was pushing down the Windows 10 upgrade, Microsoft or Samsung, at the time considered my notebook eligible to perform the upgrade. Hi GKski, 'I asked Samsung about this and was told that my notebook is not compatible with the Windows 10 upgrade.'
I haven't needed to provide any PIN-code or passkey when installing the mouse before and there is no place to provide it now. Pairing just fails with this message. Any reason why Windows has issues with a PIN-code when connecting a mouse - or why this message even comes up?
After this Windows at least sees the mouse, but pairing is still impossible. Now it asks me to 'Check the PIN-code and try to connect again': I guess this is some progress. The computer with this issue is a laptop, MSI GT72 2QD Dominator with a 4th generation Haswell CPU. It has the latest BIOS. The same mouse runs well on other laptops that runs Creators Update both with and without KB4020102. Any suggestions why the mouse is not working on this laptop after installing Creators Update and how I can fix this issue? Thank You, Calle.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse and highly recommend it. Rated 3 out of 5 by Ichiro from This mouse has a connectivity issue on Windows 10 I tried to discover a way to manage it on my upgraded PC to Win 10 and have found many comments online about this issue. On Windows 10, some PCs recognize this device as a Bluetoothdevice but not as a mice, which makes this unusable. I spent over 4 hours and tried many options but gave up. However, MS Surface notebook I own has a perfect connection. There is clearly something wrong, and until MS provides a patch, I have to remind that some Windows 10 PC are not compatible with this device.

For example, I have scroll-wheel left mapped to my browser 'back' button, and scroll wheel right mapped to browser 'forward'. I'd love it if this functionality made it to Karabiner in the future, but for now you may want to give BetterTouchTool a shot.
We used to just have a HCL to go. Other than the inability to use the BT mouse, I do not detect other problems with the WIndows 10 installation, but I wonder what other gotchas I will encounter down the road? Is there a tool for testing the WIndows 10 installation after the fact? I have not tried another BT mouse. The old 2.4ghz mouse is working and I tested a BT headset with the notepad without issues. At this point, I am less concerned about the mouse incompatibility, although it is a very nicely designed mouse, rather I worry about any other gotchas to crop up down the way. I.e., the Get Windows 10 App worked as I expected and the upgrade seemed to go smoothly.

This is an issue MS should be working on resolving or providing a utility specifically designed to fix a user account. Well, one that works. I've not been successful yet. MS has the resources and, presumably, the expertise to do better than this.
