Which brings me to the question of capsules on ebay. With the 260 capsule welcome offer, we wont need any for some time. But is there any risk of 'fake' capsules out there? Or should we stick to buying them off Nespresso Club?

If you look at the range on the nespresso site, many are identical but just rebranded as either Krups or Magimix, but they are essentially the same models rebranded to either parent company. Magimix sell 3 of these very similar models: M200 - manual machine with a simple frother =£136 - the one in your link M200C - semi-automatic machine (selecting volume is still manual, otherwise auto, plus has the AutoCappucino frothing nozzle) =£179 M200 Automatic - fully automatic machine (inc. Lungo/espresso select and volume select) with AutoCappucino nozzle =£199 = also sold as the Krups FNA2 I ordered the M200 Automatic because I'm lazy and thought it was worth the little bit extra. Unfortunately, many websites advertise the 'M200 Automatic' but when you go there and read the exact model details it's usually an M200 or M200C they're trying to sell you instead (the sneaky so and so's ). Also worth noting that the Krups FNA2 equivalent is a discontinued/end-of-line model so I wasn't sure what warranty I would get with it.

I'm only a bit apprehensive about getting the pods online, what the range is, how expensive they are etc, but I understand you can buy whole boxes and stick 'em in storage until needed (seeing as they're vacuum sealed)? There are 10 pods in a box, and you have to order in multiples of 5 boxes. I just keep mine in a cupboard. I haven't found a blend that I don't like yet. My absolute favs are the Vivalto Lungo.

Hi kdimof, I realize you posted this problem over a year ago, but I was curious to see if you were ever able to resolve this problem, or find the exact cause. I have the same issue you describe. I descaled my Lattissima for the first time using the Nespresso descaling solution.

Quick ring to the uber polite telesales sorted it (they'll send it today, should get it monday ) The coffee? Bloody marvellous. Takes less than a minute start to finish and tastes great.

They replied in about 5hrs, with a reason.because I had ordered my machine through them, the website took that as my first order and therefore removed the option to buy the Welcome Pack. However, they could tell that I hadn't bought any coffee yet, so said I was still eligible for the offer, but only if I did it via telephone.

And now, two months later, I cannot remove the chemical smell/taste of the descaling solution. I've run numerous descaling cycles with just water (as per Nespresso's customer service advice), with no success. I was forced to accept a refurbished machine (even though my Lattissima was only 3 months old). The refurbished machine is currently on the way. Well actually better than some. And the capsules are of course less fuss than using ground beans. We were also impressed as to just how quick it was. Once the machine has warmed up for the first time (only takes a mo), then after than a cup of hot coffee is dispensed almost immediately. I wasn't expecting that, so that was nice. It takes 80 secs for the milk, so I start the coffee brewing almost at the end of that, so that both are at their maximum temp.

Bought a Nespresso machine this week. And so far impressed. I know people will say it is not a 'real' coffee machine, and that the capsules are expensive, but it suits our needs. We did have a normal machine in the past but frankly found it too much trouble compared to the number of times we used it. Too much fuss, cleaning, etc.
